THE MONTESSORI PHILOSOPHY
Independence & Self Motivation
As the children learn to work independently in the prepared environment,
they build skills that will last a life-time. They enjoy the presence of other
children in the environment while working independently in their own
curriculum. No child is held up or left behind by the needs of another child.
The children learn to make appropriate choices within their curriculum,
thereby developing independence in making decisions. This freedom is
established in a structured framework outlined by the Montessori philosophy
and established by the teacher, with limits to provide security for the child
and promote the child's progress in all areas of development.
